02 / THE EDGE WORK

“Marine-Grade Film” Is a Myth.

Boat wrap edge work by Big Shot Rides, South Florida

Film brands don’t make a special “boat vinyl” — anyone selling you “marine-grade film” is selling a sticker with a story. What actually decides whether a boat wrap survives is the installation: water attacks the edges, so we triple-seal every edge — giving salt and speed no place to start peeling.

It takes longer. It’s why our boat wraps stay on boats.

04 / FAQ

Straight Answers.

Is there such a thing as marine-grade wrap film? +

No — that’s marketing noise. Film brands don’t make a special “boat vinyl.” What makes a boat wrap survive salt, sun, and speed is the installation: we triple-seal every edge so water never gets a starting point. Ask any shop claiming “marine-grade film” to show you the manufacturer’s spec sheet.

How much does a boat wrap cost? +

Boat wraps are quoted by size and complexity — hull length, graphics, and surface condition all move the number. One conversation gets you a real quote. Financing is available through Affirm.

Does a wrap protect my gelcoat? +

Yes — the film shields the gelcoat underneath from UV fading and surface scuffs, and it’s fully reversible. Many owners wrap specifically to preserve the hull instead of refinishing it.

How long does a boat wrap last in Florida? +

Florida sun and salt are the hardest test there is — which is exactly why the edge work matters. With triple-sealed edges, a freshwater rinse after salt use, and covered storage when possible, a quality boat wrap delivers years of service. How the boat lives is the biggest factor.

Can you do the boat name and FL registration numbers? +

Yes — names, hailing ports, and Florida registration numbers, designed and installed as part of the wrap or as standalone lettering.

How do I get the boat to you? +

Most boats come to us on the trailer. Tell us what you’re running when you get your quote and we’ll sort the logistics in one conversation.
